My Buck Won't Be going in Howard Schultz Pocket Anymore! (Schultz is the Previous owner of the Seattle Sonics & Seattle Storm basketball teams)
I have been a long time fan of the Seattle Super Sonics (in Seattle) and a long time supporter of Starbucks.Everyday, I buy a Starbucks, non-fat, no-whip Mocha, that costs me $4 - that's $28 a week, $112 a month, $1344 a year! With the recent sale of the Seattle Sonics to Oklahoma - I've really been struggling with WHY Howard Schultz would betray Seattle and potentially move a team that has been one of Seattle's icons for many years. Answer: bottom line is the mighty BUCK! I know there are two sides to every story, but from the articles I've been reading in the Seattle P-I and Times, Schultz just wanted out - he wanted his bucks out of the team, and he really didn't care who the buyer was. Anyway - my personal way of NOT supporting Schultz is not to buy my daily Starbucks coffee! Why should I put MY BUCK in his pocket? If you are a Seattle Sonics fan, wear one of my buttons or shirts, to show you do not support the sale of the Sonics. (all profits goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation) |
